How to recognise a reputable clinic

Not every clinic offering cheap hair transplants delivers what it promises. Reputable clinics in Croatia and Slovenia meet these criteria:

• A clearly named, responsible specialist (a dermatologist or plastic surgeon)
• Transparent prices with no hidden extra costs
• Verifiable before-and-after photos of real patients
• EU certification and traceable hygiene processes
• A clear contact person for aftercare

Who carries out the treatment?

Ask explicitly: who carries out the extraction? Who places the grafts? Who is the responsible doctor? In some clinics technicians carry out parts of the procedure under medical supervision — that is not inherently worse, but it has to be communicated transparently.

Before booking: what you must clarify in writing

• The number of guaranteed grafts and the price per graft
• What is included in the package: transfers, accommodation, medication, PRP, aftercare
• How many patients are treated per day and per surgeon
• Whether the hairline is planned individually
• How complications are handled

Looking critically at before-and-after photos

Genuine results show the progress after 12–18 months. Photos after 3–6 months are misleading — the result is not yet final. Ask for long-term results and, if possible, for patient references.

Organising travel and the stay

• Flight: 1–2 hours from Munich, Vienna or Zurich to Zagreb or Ljubljana
• Transfer: many clinics offer an airport transfer
• Accommodation: often included in clinic packages (2–4 days)
• After the operation: plan a calm journey, no direct return flight on the same day

Aftercare once you are home
