PRP Hair Regeneration Therapy
PRP - Platelet-Rich Plasma - platelets and various growth factors can support the body's own regeneration processes and counteract hair loss
About the treatment
What is a PRP treatment?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. In this non-surgical treatment, a small amount of the patient's own blood is drawn, processed and then injected into the scalp. The plasma contains platelets and various growth factors that can support the body's own regeneration processes.
PRP therapy is used primarily for early or progressive hereditary hair loss. The aim is to stimulate existing, weakened hair follicles, improve hair density and slow down further thinning of the hair. Areas that are already completely bald generally cannot be regrown with hair by PRP alone.
Possible goals include:
- Stabilising hair loss.
- Improving hair density.
- Strengthening thin hair.
- Supporting a healthier-looking scalp.
- Promoting regeneration after a hair transplant.
No guarantee of new hair growth can be given. The treatment should therefore be started with realistic expectations.
What are the benefits of PRP?
- Autologous material: Only plasma from your own blood is used.
- Non-surgical procedure: No incisions and no surgical harvesting of hair roots are required.
- Short treatment: A session usually takes less than an hour.
- Minimal downtime: Many patients can quickly return to their daily routine.
- Support for existing hair follicles: PRP can have a positive effect on thinning hair and hair density.
- Can be combined: Depending on the findings, the therapy can be combined with other treatments such as minoxidil or a hair transplant.
