Financing treatment abroad: an overview of your options

From paying cash to paying in instalments — how to finance your treatment in Croatia or Slovenia well and without stress.
Financing treatment abroad: an overview of your options
Dental treatment in Croatia, a hair transplant in Slovenia or a procedure with a specialist — the costs are often considerably lower than in Germany or Austria. Even so, many patients ask themselves: how do I best finance the treatment?
Option 1: paying cash on site
Many of our partner clinics offer early booking or cash payment discounts. Anyone paying out of their own pocket often saves an additional 5–10%. Our tip: set up a separate account for the treatment and save into it every month.
Option 2: paying in instalments through the clinic
Some clinics offer their own instalment plans — often interest-free for short terms. GO Medics finds out in advance which clinic offers which options. Important: have the conditions agreed in writing.
Option 3: a loan or a medical financing partner
In Germany and Austria there are specialised providers of medical financing. They often offer favourable conditions and unbureaucratic processing — for treatment abroad too.
Option 4: health insurance and allowances
Statutory health insurers reimburse part of the costs in certain cases — provided you have submitted a treatment and cost plan in advance. Private supplementary insurance often covers considerably more. GO Medics helps you with the documentation.
