What does cosmetic surgery cost in Croatia and Slovenia? Prices, services and important criteria for patients from German-speaking countries

Cosmetic surgery in Croatia or Slovenia can be financially attractive for patients from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For many procedures the prices are below the level of many clinics in German-speaking countries. What is decisive, however, is not the lowest price alone but the whole package: the specialist, the anaesthetic, the clinic stay, implants, aftercare and possible extra costs. A cheap offer is only really cheap if all the important services are listed transparently. An apparently low entry price can rise considerably if preliminary examinations, the anaesthetic, implants, overnight stays or check-ups are charged on top.
Guide prices at a glance
The table below offers a first orientation for frequently requested treatments. These are not binding offers. The final price is usually only set after a personal or digital medical consultation.

The price differences arise among other things from the surgical method, the number of body areas treated, the implant model, the type of anaesthetic and the length of the hospital stay.
Breast enlargement and breast lift
Breast enlargement is one of the most frequently requested aesthetic operations. At our partner clinics a breast enlargement costs about 5,000 euros. A breast enlargement with a simultaneous lift is about 15–20% more expensive. A breast lift without implants is offered at around 4,700 euros.
Before booking, patients should clarify in writing:
- Which implant brand and model is used?
- Are the implants included in the price?
- Is there an implant passport?
- What guarantee does the manufacturer offer?
- Are a compression bra and medication included?
- How many follow-up appointments are planned?
- What does a later implant change cost?
At most of our partner clinics the package includes the pre-operative examination by the anaesthetist, the general anaesthetic, a short stay at the clinic, a compression bra, medication and post-operative check-ups. Blood tests, an ECG, several additional nights and certain specialist consultations may, however, be charged separately.
Eyelid lift
The price for eyelid surgery depends on whether the upper lid, the lower lid or both are treated. The choice between a local and a general anaesthetic also influences the cost.
Our partner clinics charge about 1,600 euros for an upper eyelid lift under local anaesthetic and about 2,000 euros for a lower eyelid lift. With a general anaesthetic the published prices are higher.
Before booking it should be clarified whether the ophthalmological or plastic surgery examination, medication, dressings, suture removal and check-ups are included in the price. Particularly with procedures around the eyes it should also be clear who performs the operation and what professional qualifications they have.
Nose correction
With a nose correction, comparing prices is particularly difficult. It has to be distinguished whether it is a purely aesthetic rhinoplasty, a functional nose operation, a septoplasty or a complex revision operation.
Our partner clinics charge about 2,700 to 4,500 euros for a nose correction. A septoplasty costs about 2,700 to 3,100 euros, a rhinoplasty about 3,000 to 4,500 euros.
Before booking it must be recorded in writing:
- Which structures of the nose are corrected?
- Is the septum treated as well?
- Is the operation planned as open or closed?
- How many nights are planned?
- How long does the patient have to stay on site?
- How is the aftercare organised after returning home?
Facelift and neck lift
A facelift can vary greatly in scope depending on the technique. A mini facelift is not comparable with a full facelift including a neck lift or SMAS technique.
Our partner clinics charge about 5,000 to 8,000 euros for a facelift and around 3,500 euros for a mini facelift. The package includes among other things the anaesthetic assessment, the general anaesthetic, a short stay at the clinic, medication, changes of dressing, suture removal and post-operative check-ups.
Additional nights, further examinations and medication for home use may, however, lie outside the package. This should be clarified precisely and in writing before the appointment is confirmed.
Liposuction and body contouring
With liposuction, the price is determined above all by the number of areas treated. A small area such as the knees or chin is not comparable with extensive treatment of the abdomen, hips, back and thighs.
The price for liposuction starts at about 2,000 euros and can, depending on the area, be up to 4,000 euros. Further areas can cause additional costs.
Patients should ask in writing beforehand:
- How many body areas are included in the price?
- Which technique is used?
- Is the compression garment included?
- Which anaesthetic is planned?
- How long does the monitoring last?
- How many check-ups are included?
- Is a skin tightening necessary and charged separately?
Tummy tuck and gynaecomastia
For a tummy tuck our partner clinics charge about 3,500 to 6,000 euros.
With gynaecomastia the price depends on whether fatty tissue, glandular tissue or excess skin has to be removed. Surgical procedures are somewhat more expensive at about 4,000 euros, while VASER liposuction is charged at about 1,700 to 2,800 euros.
These prices are only comparable to a limited extent. Especially with a tummy tuck, the hospital stay, drains, compression garments and possible additional check-ups should be discussed explicitly.
Botox and non-surgical treatments
Botox is not cosmetic surgery in the narrower sense, but many patients research it together with surgical options. In Croatia, for example, about 300 to 600 euros are quoted for treating one to three facial areas. The actual cost depends on the product, the dosage and the area treated.
With Botox and fillers, patients should ask about the active substance used, the quantity, the manufacturer and the qualifications of the person carrying out the treatment. The price per treatment only means something if the area treated and the amount of product used are clearly stated.
Why extremely cheap offers have to be checked critically
An extremely low price is not automatically a sign of poor quality. It can, however, mean that important services are not included. Often implants, the anaesthetic, blood tests, overnight stays, medication or check-ups are missing.
Patients should be particularly careful with offers that:
- do not name a specific surgeon,
- do not state any specialist qualification,
- advertise only with stock photos,
- do not describe the exact surgical method,
- contain no arrangement for complications,
- demand an immediate deposit,
- promise a guaranteed result,
- do not name a contact person you can reach.
Questions to clarify before you book
Before booking, the following questions should be answered in writing:
- Who performs the operation?
- What specialist qualification does the surgeon have?
- In which clinic and at which location does the procedure take place?
- Which surgical method is planned?
- Who administers the anaesthetic?
- Which preliminary examinations are included in the price?
- Are implants, compression garments and medication included?
- How many nights are included in the price?
- How many check-ups take place on site?
- Who can be reached after your return?
- What costs arise in the event of complications?
- Who bears the cost of any necessary correction?
- What cancellation conditions apply?
- How high is the deposit?
- When does the remaining amount have to be paid?
- What minimum length of stay does the clinic recommend?
- Which documents do you receive after the procedure?

Conclusion
Croatia and Slovenia offer attractive options in aesthetic medicine for many patients from German-speaking countries. For numerous procedures the prices can be below the level in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The actual saving can only be judged, however, when all medical and organisational services are taken into account.
The most important comparison is therefore not: “Which clinic is the cheapest?” What matters far more is: “What services do I get for the total price, who treats me and how is my safety ensured before, during and after the procedure?”
A written cost estimate, verifiable qualifications of the surgeon, clear information about the anaesthetic and a reliable aftercare concept are the most important foundations for a safe decision.
