Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) in Croatia
An eyelid lift, medically known as blepharoplasty , is a surgical procedure on the eyelids in which excess skin, muscle tissue and/or fatty tissue is removed or repositioned in order to rejuvenate the eye area and create a more open, fresher look.
Types of eyelid lift:
- Upper eyelid lift: removal of excess skin, if needed also fat and muscle tissue on the upper lid, with the aim of correcting hooded and drooping lids and improving the lateral field of vision
- Lower eyelid lift: removal or redistribution of fat, skin removal on the lower lid if needed, with the aim of correcting eye bags, wrinkles and sagging under the eyes
- Combined eyelid lift: upper and lower lids lifted at the same time, with the aim of a comprehensive rejuvenation of the whole eye area
Reasons for an eyelid lift
Aesthetic reasons
- Age-related slackening of the eyelid skin
- Protruding fat pads (eye bags)
- A tired, drawn facial expression
- Genetically caused hooded lids or eye bags
- The wish for a younger, fresher appearance
Medical reasons
- Severely overhanging upper lids that restrict the field of vision (particularly to the side and above)
- Functional impairment when reading, driving or during other activities
- Chronic irritation caused by drooping eyelid skin
The aim is to give the eyes a more rested, fresher and younger appearance without changing the natural shape of the eye. With a medical indication (severely drooping upper lids) an improvement of the field of vision can also be achieved.
Blepharoplasty is one of the most common cosmetic procedures worldwide and one of the smallest operations with arguably the greatest visual impact.

Frequently Asked Questions
What aftercare do patients receive?+
Patients receive treatment-specific post-operative instructions and information on how to behave after the procedure. The clinic provides its own documents and consent forms for this purpose.
How much does a treatment cost?+
The costs depend on the procedure and the individual findings. For example, the clinic publishes prices from 1.250 € for bilateral blepharoplasty, from 3.200 € for a facelift and neck lift and from 1.300 € for cataract surgery. These starting prices should not be understood as a binding final price; the examination, individual treatment, additional services and aftercare should be clarified in writing beforehand.
Can patients from abroad also be treated?+
Yes. For patients from outside Zagreb and from abroad, the clinic offers a dedicated process with remote consultation, travel organisation, assistance with accommodation and aftercare . The specific conditions should be clarified directly with the clinic or via GO Medics before booking.
How long does recovery take?+
That depends on the treatment. With minimally invasive procedures such as Botox or fillers, the recovery time is usually very short. After surgical procedures such as eyelid surgery or a facelift, the visible recovery phase can be approximately 7 to 14 days . After blepharoplasty, a return to everyday activities is often possible after about 7 to 10 days; complete healing may take longer.
How soon after the consultation can a procedure take place?+
According to the clinic, the time between consultation and procedure is on average about four weeks. The exact timeframe depends on the type and extent of the procedure and on the patient's individual circumstances.
