A facelift can often rejuvenate appearance for many years; typically 8 to 15 years are mentioned. However, the natural aging process is not stopped, so skin and tissue continue to change.

How long does the procedure take?

Depending on the technique and extent, a facelift usually takes about 2 to 5 hours. If combined with neck lift, eyelid lift or fat transfer, the duration may be longer.

Is a facelift painful?

During surgery, there is no pain due to anesthesia or sedation. After the procedure, tightness, swelling, bruising and mild discomfort are normal; these can usually be well controlled with pain medication and cooling.

How long is the recovery?

Many patients are able to return to work and social activities after about 10 to 14 days. Sport and intensive activities should usually not be resumed until 3 to 6 weeks later.
